The official 1.5 firmware is here finally!
April 27, 2009HTC has quietly added the 1.5 firmware for the G1 to their firmware page. You can grab it at http://www.htc.com/www/support/android/adp.html
Recently, I’ve been debating with myself if I wanted to tackle making a new “JF” image based on 1.5 when it came out. I really wasn’t looking forward to making a new update. But now that’s its actually here, the “update bug” has bitten again, so I’ll get to work on it this evening!

Thank God, JesusFreke, that you will make another great one. Please don’t forget multitouch, as the cupcake is still lacking that.
I know who to blame if I wake up this night and can’t sleep again until I got my hands on your latest product.
Thanks from AndroidClub NL

JF, thank you, thank you, thank you. No disrespect to the other modders out there (Haykuro, Dude, etc), but your builds are by far the best and that’s why you deserve the recognition you get.

JF,
Glad to see you’re back at it again. Can’t wait to see what you do with this build. I know you are probably getting swamped with comments, requests, etc.. So i will keep it short.
HTC Camera
HTC Video Camera
HTC Keyboard
Latitude
See if you can add the appstoSD an dalvik code in the zip file to make that process easier for some of the newbies.
Looking forward to your next build/update.

JF , Its amazing how much people loved your roms, to the point where Most people I know using JF Roms, just DONT want to give up on it even when All the other 1.5 Builds came out (Dude’s etc..)!! It simply shows how much people are feeling comfortable with your AWESOMEE Roms. You sure did a great job and yes a site for donation is defenitly a good idea…..You deserve it !.
Offcourse……..cant wait for your new 1.5 Build

Just a couple of things that you could possibly consider in your build. Autorotate on everything including homescreen and contacts. Also maybe along with the multitouch browser you could incorporate the saphires browser which contains the double tap circular zoom which in my opinion maybe easier to use in onehanded scenarios. Also if its possible to maybe included the saphires rotate bounce effect rather than the fade effect or the spare parts swing effect. Just some ideas let me know if you like any.

JF,
A million thanks for your significant efforts in bringing these builds to us. I have enjoyed my G1 immeasurably more because of your existing work. I’m thrilled that you’ve decided to produce a 1.5 build, and can’t wait to install it.
Thanks again for your generosity!
May 1st, 2009 at 5:06 pm
hey glad you added an donation link. just donated you deserve it. looking forward to 1.5.
May 1st, 2009 at 5:12 pm
JF, as with everyone else, I really appreciate the hard work you put in! Recently, I was excited to finally dedicate a couple hours to put cupcake on my G1 and in reality it took many hours and I struggled to make it work with 1.5 constantly crashing before I found the JF build was WAY easier to load and more stable …very tight. Afterwards, I made some instructions for the full process in case anyone needs a walkthrough: http://gergen.us/wordpress/?p=149
JF rocks! I would rather have root with a JF RC33 build then to have cupcake without it …so there.
P.S. I like the new look of the blog!

I too am eagerly awaiting your build like it was the Second Coming. Ha ha ha. I’m rocking The Dude rom right now, but miss the tmo bloatware (Amazon mp3, multichat client, myfaves) as well as the asthetics. I can’t wait till you get it working.
May 2nd, 2009 at 2:11 am
JF,
Installed with no issues (other than almost forgetting the radio due to excitement). You’re JF App is sweet. Thank you so much once again for coming back and creating the update!
Good thing I have nothing planned for Saturday!
May 2nd, 2009 at 4:44 pm
Don’t know where to send this… I tried the Haykuro ADP 1.5 Hr3 mod and the JF 1.50 ADP1.5 mods; updated the radio four times, wiped at least eight.
No matter what I do, I cannot enable bluetooth phone audio w/ the G1 now. It’s completely gone. The phone //says// it is there; but the actual calls are completely oblivious — the audio continues to pipe in / out through the physical device itself. Media works just fine — but I need to conduct phone conversations through the bluetooth, not listen to music!
Any help at all would be immensely appreciated. (I’ve also submitted a bug report w/ the Haykuro google code sapphire port website.)
May 4th, 2009 at 9:42 am
you do great work
please keep the roms coming
I am more than happy to donate for each one i can use.
